Smart Program needed a modern website that could improve the browsing experience while making the platform easier to manage behind the scenes.
Working alongside another developer, a designer and a marketing strategist, I helped rebuild the site on our latest in-house CMS framework and translate the new design into a responsive, fully functional experience.
One of the larger technical pieces of the project was migrating the existing website to our newer in-house CMS framework. The transition needed to preserve the existing site structure and content while improving how the website performed and was maintained. Working through the migration required careful coordination between the front-end and back-end implementation to make sure the new system worked without disrupting existing functionality.
The weather animations were one of the more challenging parts of the build.
Effects such as falling rain and snow involved rendering multiple animated elements at once, which could become demanding on lower-powered devices. I iterated on the implementation to reduce unnecessary rendering and improve performance while keeping the visual effect intact.
The rebuilt Smart Program website delivered a faster and a more responsive experience with a stronger foundation for future updates.
